"Getting you ready for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games!"

Drop a Star and Win a Prize

fallen 5-star

This message goes out to all you 5-Star hotel room hunters. If your plan is to stay only a few days for the Olympic Games you may want to consider booking at a 4-Star hotel instead. At many 4-Star hotels I have visited, I found myself to be quite impressed with the quality of the facilities and level of service which in many cases was equal to or near that of a 5-Star hotel.

With similar room sizes, amenities and service you can book a Suite Room at a 4-Star hotel from 2,000 RMB to 5,000 RMB per night less then at a 5-Star hotel. Another plus is that you will have more verity to choose from as 4-Star hotels are more flexible to book short stay guests.

With all these positive points, booking a 4-Star hotel doesn't seem like a bad idea. (WoAiOnline.Net)

Facts About Hotel Rooms

I am sure you’ve heard that there are shortages of hotel rooms in Beijing. To some extent this is very true as the majority of existing local hotels are not modernized and their staff is untrained to welcome Non-Chinese guests. In many cases these hotels are also lacking the quality services, cleanliness and security you would expect to get at main

stream hotels. So this certainly subtracts from having more available rooms.

In other instants there are still many hotels that have not begun taking reservations for the Olympic period and have not released prices because they are waiting as the market to push room prices even higher. Without international guest bookings, domestic bookings still receive top dollar for rooms and this trend will continue as the Olympic Opening Ceremonies draw closer.

Next we come to the mainstream and internationally branded hotels. Primarily these are 4-Star and 5-Star rated hotels. Most of these hotels have minimum stay periods ranging 10 to 20 days. If you can get a daily rate it can cost 30% higher per day than the minimum stay Olympic rate.

Now as I view the landscape of hotels which are presently under construction or renovation and yet to come online; we are still faced much uncertainty to get rooms there. Of the brands we are familiar with large blocks of rooms have already been sold to various Olympic Committees, Associations, Governments and Companies. The remaining rooms are not being released until the last, pending there is no increased bookings by these organizations.

So, if there is any lesson to learn from this information I would say it is to get your hotel room accommodations taken care of as quickly as possible and not wait until later. You will certainly feel relieved once it is done. (WoAiOnline.Net)
